Pleasant Harbor Public Boat Launch Closed in Early September

OLYMPIA - The public boat launch at Pleasant Harbor near Brinnon on Hood Canal will be closed twice in early September while the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) wraps up an improvement project at the site.
Texas Parks & Wildlife Magazine to Reach 9,000 Schools

AUSTIN, Texas — This September, Texas Parks & Wildlife magazine will begin a new Keep Texas Wild student section for teachers and families to introduce children to the world of nature and the outdoors. For the next year, magazine issues containing the new section will mail to more than 9,000 schools across the state, thanks to a grant from ExxonMobil and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
FWC Will Deal with Lost and Damaged Boats After the Storm

As Tropical Storm Fay’s winds pull at mooring lines and boat anchors, some vessels may break free in spite of the best efforts of the boats’ owners. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and other agencies will take on the task of identifying and returning lost boats to their owners after the winds die down and officials can assess the condition of waterways.

Tropical Storm Fay’s torrential downpours are flooding many of Florida’s creeks, rivers, canals and other waterways, and high wind gusts are blowing debris into the water. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is urging boaters to watch out for navigation hazards when the storm passes and people resume using waterways.
