Wild River State Park to Have Second Open House Day, "Walk Into the Past"

Once is not enough. On June 1, as part of the statewide Open House Day for Minnesota State Parks, Wild River State Park will be open to the public without the usual requirement for a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit. The previous open house, on May 17, has been a spring tradition for several years. But in honor of Minnesota's Sesquicentennial, all Minnesota State Parks will be open for day visits free of charge on Sunday, June 1, and Wild River is included.

 

 

KEEP WILDLIFE WILD - LEAVE YOUNG ANIMALS ALONE

CONCORD, N.H. -- If you encounter wildlife, even young animals that appear to need help, the kindest (and safest) thing to do is to leave them alone and let nature take its course, officials from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said today.

Doing five simple things will lessen the chance that a black bear visits your campsite this year:

Don't leave food out.

Don't scatter food scraps and other litter around your campsite or cabin area.
